Engagement & process
How quickly can The Blackwolf Group Global deploy a protective team?
We deploy teams anywhere in the world within 24 hours. Our home markets are Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja) and the United Kingdom (London), and we have operated across Africa and Europe. For complex or remote places, we start checking routes and venues as soon as the job is confirmed. Every enquiry gets a fast answer, day or night.
What is the minimum engagement length?
There is no minimum length. We cover short airport-to-meeting escorts as well as long-term residential mandates. Most clients begin with a single trip or event before building a long-term relationship with us.
How does an initial consultation work?
A senior member of the team contacts you quickly. The first conversation is private, carries no obligation and follows no script. We ask about what you need, your dates, who needs protection and any security you have used before. You then get a written proposal soon after that call.
Do you sign NDAs before any disclosure?
Yes. We sign your NDA before we discuss any details of the job. If you do not have one, we provide our own NDA, written to the standard wealthy families expect: it binds both sides, never expires, and names every team member who will see information about you.
Can you operate alongside our existing security team?
Yes, and we often do. Many of our jobs involve working with your own head of security, a family security adviser or another security partner. We follow your reporting lines and your rules, and we do not compete with your team.
What is the difference between close protection and executive protection?
Close protection is the bodyguard team that stays close to you: usually one to four officers, depending on the threat level. Executive protection is wider. It also covers checking routes and venues before you arrive, route planning, threat checks, security at home, and fitting the protection team into your personal and working life. Blackwolf provides both as one protection plan, built for each job.
Can you work directly with our family or chief of staff?
Yes, and we often do. Most of our jobs are arranged entirely through a family member, chief of staff, personal assistant or estate manager. We are happy to work through several people between us and the client, and we can communicate in whatever way you prefer. The client never needs to deal with day-to-day planning unless they choose to.
Do you protect clients in sensitive political situations?
We protect clients across the political spectrum: including heads of state, government ministers, opposition figures, diplomats, and people whose business carries political sensitivity. We keep everything private, and we choose officers who stay politically neutral. We do not discuss any current or past political jobs.
Do you provide threat intelligence and due diligence before a trip?
Yes. Security research before a trip is a standard part of every travel job and is also available on its own. Our intelligence team writes threat briefings about you, not general country risk summaries. They cover the destination, the threats you personally face, route and venue checks, and background checks on new people you will be meeting. The briefing goes to your chief of staff before the job begins.
Officers & team
What is the background of your protection officers?
Blackwolf is led by Ricky, a former British Paratrooper with two decades of protection work. He started on the door and moved into executive close protection. Our officers come from military and senior close protection backgrounds. Every officer holds the licence required in the country where they work and is checked against our own standard.
Do you provide female protection officers?
Yes. We deploy female officers and see them as essential, not optional. This applies to clients with female family members, places where a same-gender officer is needed (changing rooms, medical settings, some religious settings) and any job where a female officer makes the protection stronger.
How many languages do your officers speak?
English is our working language in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and on our international jobs. For each job we bring in officers or trusted local partners who speak your language and the local language, so nothing is lost between the team, you and the people around you.
How are officers vetted before they work with a client?
Every officer passes a written vetting process: criminal record checks in the main countries, a financial check, a review of social media and online activity, references from past employers, and a face-to-face assessment with a senior coordinator. Vetting is renewed every year and repeated before an officer works with a new client.
How do you select the right officer for a specific client?
We choose officers carefully for each job. We match the threat, the place, the languages needed, gender, culture and your personal style. A quiet wealthy family needs a different kind of officer than a well-known business leader facing hostile media. We do this matching for every job and review it before each deployment.
What ongoing training do your officers complete?
Our officers complete refresher training at least once a year. It covers evasive driving, first aid renewal, updated threat assessment methods and changes to the law in the countries where they work. Officers on specialist jobs, such as at sea, in the air or in hostile places, hold certificates for that work. We never assign officers whose qualifications have expired.
Can you provide the same officers across multiple trips?
We strongly recommend keeping the same officers for regular clients. A steady team knows your surroundings, understands your habits and preferences, and needs less briefing before each trip. We assign a main team to each client and keep that team together as a priority, as far as scheduling allows.
Do you have experience protecting royal families and heads of state?
Our experience is in protecting high-profile clients, celebrities and wealthy individuals. Protection for royal households or heads of state needs formal protocol work: official contact with household offices, coordination with the host country's protection services, and careful handling of ceremonies and public events. We plan these with the same discipline and choose officers for their protocol skills and calm communication.
Operations
What is included in a typical close protection job?
A standard close protection job includes: a threat check and route survey before we deploy, protection officers at your side (usually 1 to 3), one or more security drivers, choosing and supplying vehicles, a hotel check before you arrive, a venue check, 24/7 tracking from our operations centre, a daily security brief and a private report at the end.
Do you provide armoured vehicles?
Yes: saloons, SUVs and people-carriers with armour ratings from B4 to B6+. Our London, Paris, Geneva and Dubai fleets are ready for same-day use. For other places, armoured vehicles come from approved regional partners who follow our written security standard.
How do you handle threat assessments before a trip?
Before any job, our intelligence team gives you a written threat check. It covers: the country and city, risks specific to you, weak points on the routes, venue checks, recent local incidents, expected protests or media, and backup plans. The brief is updated daily during the job and shared with you and the team.
Can you manage residential security for a long-term home?
Yes. Home security is one of our core services. We provide: a site survey, physical and electronic security planning, vetting of household staff, perimeter and CCTV design, links to a 24/7 control room, response times worked out with local authorities, and a rotation of protection officers at the home. Jobs range from short seasonal stays to permanent, multi-year protection.
What happens in case of a real incident?
Every job has a backup plan agreed in advance for each type of event: medical, accident, hostile crowd, someone trying to approach you, communication failure, vehicle incident. The team acts on the right plan immediately, the operations centre is alerted within sixty seconds, and a senior coordinator contacts you directly within five minutes. You receive a written review within 48 hours.
What is an advance team and why is it important?
An advance team goes ahead of you to check the route and venues, clear the hotel, find weak points and confirm the plan. They work with hotel security, venue managers and, where needed, local authorities. This advance work turns a planned trip into a controlled one. It is the most valuable step you can take for better protection.
Do you conduct counter-surveillance as part of a protection job?
Yes. Counter-surveillance is part of our protection for clients at higher risk. Our officers are trained to spot anyone watching or following you before that person can get close. This lets us change course and stop a threat before it reaches you. For clients facing complex or long-running threats, we deploy a separate counter-surveillance team alongside the close protection team.
How do you manage security at large private events?
Event security covers: a site survey and perimeter check, invitation and guest list management, entry control with ID checks, close protection for you inside the venue, low-key crowd management, a dedicated radio network, and full medical backup. We work with the venue's own security rather than replacing it, and our event lead works directly with the event organiser throughout.
Can you provide close protection during medical treatment or hospital visits?
Yes. Medical protection is a special kind of job. It needs careful work with doctors and nurses, stricter privacy rules, and protection adjusted for a client who is physically vulnerable during treatment. We cover hospital stays, outpatient visits, recovery after a procedure and travel abroad for treatment. Our medical protection teams know how to work in clinics and hospitals without getting in the way of patient care.
How does your home security work with existing household staff?
We plan how we fit into the household from the start. At the beginning of every home security job, our team leader holds a joint briefing with the estate manager and senior household staff. It covers what security does, how we work together day to day, how contractors get access, and who does what in a crisis. Security works best when the household team understands it and works with it as a real partner.
Discretion & confidentiality
Will your officers be visible during a job?
How visible we are is a deliberate choice, based on the threat and on what you prefer. By default, our officers wear normal clothes, keep a low profile and show no badges or equipment. They look like personal staff, not security. When the threat is higher, or you ask for it, we become visible. We never make ourselves visible just for show.
How do you protect information about your clients?
Client information stays only with the officers working on the job, on encrypted communications, kept separate for each job, and no client can see another client's details. We never use material that identifies a client in our marketing. Every photo or testimonial we publish has written approval. We have never been the source of a leak about a client. Our whole business rests on this discipline.
Do you publish a client list?
No, and we never will. On request, we can give a small number of senior references, after an NDA and after we have checked that your enquiry is a good fit. We will not name specific clients, families or companies in any business conversation.
How do you ensure officers do not recognise or interact with the client in public?
This is a standard part of protection work. Officers are briefed clearly on how to behave around you in every setting, including what to do if they meet you by chance in a public place. The working relationship is set by what you prefer. Some clients want their officers to be completely invisible socially. Others prefer a warmer working relationship. We follow whatever you decide.
Do you use digital or technical surveillance in your operations?
We use electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, GPS tracking, encrypted communications) for home and event security, where the client has agreed and where local law allows it. We do not watch anyone without a clear legal basis and client consent. We never collect data without permission.
How do you protect the confidentiality of a client's medical treatment?
Medical information is handled under our strictest privacy rules. Team members are told only what they need to do the job. The medical nature of the job is not recorded in our normal systems. Where needed, a cover story is agreed with the client's chief of staff. A client's medical situation is never mentioned in any business setting.
Pricing & commercials
How is The Blackwolf Group Global priced?
Pricing depends on each job: the team size, how long it lasts, vehicles, intelligence support and any specialist skills needed. We give you a clear written quote before any deployment. There are no hidden costs, no extra "service charges" added during the job, and no daily minimum that does not match what you actually need.
Are travel and accommodation costs included?
Reasonable travel and accommodation costs for the deployed team are typically billed at cost or as a fixed line item agreed before deployment. We never use travel or per-diem charges as a margin-padding mechanism: full transparency on this is part of our standard.
Do you require a deposit?
For new clients, we usually ask for a deposit equal to the first stage of the job. For regular clients on repeat or long-term jobs, we move to monthly or quarterly invoices. Payment terms are agreed in writing before any officer is deployed.
Can you provide services on a retained or ongoing basis?
Yes. Many of our clients use a retainer: a fixed monthly arrangement that covers an agreed level of protection and access to a coordinator. A retainer usually lowers costs, guarantees that the team is available, and lets us learn your surroundings better over time. Retainers are reviewed every three months.
Are your prices the same for all destinations?
Pricing reflects the cost structure of each destination. Operating in London or Miami incurs different personnel and vehicle costs than operating in Lagos or Abuja. We are transparent about the cost drivers in each market and build quotations that reflect the actual operational requirements rather than a flat global rate.
Is close protection cost-effective compared to the risk it mitigates?
The cost of professional close protection should be weighed against what could really happen if a threat succeeds: kidnapping, targeted crime, damage to your reputation, physical harm, or disruption to important business or personal plans. For high-profile people in exposed settings, professional protection usually costs a small part of what is at risk at any one time. In the first consultation, we explain costs and benefits clearly for clients deciding whether to hire protection for the first time.
Travel, aviation & yachting
Can you cover clients travelling by private jet?
Yes. We work with private jet terminals and handlers in Lagos, Abuja, London and abroad. Officers meet the aircraft on arrival, escort you through immigration where needed, and take you to your car without passing through a public terminal, wherever the airport allows it.
Do you provide yacht security?
Yes. Our yacht work covers: a security check before the charter, agreed procedures with the captain and crew, escorting the tender on trips ashore, working with each port where the yacht stops, and constant cover while you are on board. Air, land and sea travel are part of the plan. We work under the captain's authority, never against it.
Can you support multi-country itineraries?
Yes. Trips across several countries are managed by one coordinator who sees the whole journey, so you have the same people, the same procedures and unbroken protection on every leg. We work from Nigeria and the United Kingdom and deploy teams anywhere in the world within 24 hours.
How do you handle high-risk destinations?
For places with a higher risk of terrorism, kidnapping or political trouble, our advisers give you a written go or no-go assessment before you commit. During the trip you get a more detailed threat picture and extra support (more officers, armoured vehicles, medical support, backup communications) matched to the actual risk. We will advise against travel when the risk is far out of line with the purpose of your trip.
Can you cover airport arrivals and departures only?
Yes. Airport-only jobs are common, especially for clients on short stays whose host or local team handles security in the country. We meet you at the aircraft door or at immigration, escort you to your onward transport, and hand over at the agreed point.
Do you provide medical support during protection jobs?
Many of our officers hold advanced first aid and tactical medical qualifications. For jobs with higher medical risk, such as older clients, clients with long-term health conditions or large private events, we deploy a dedicated medical officer or keep low-key medical support on site. Working with private hospitals at every major destination is part of our standard.
Do you provide protection during ski seasons and Alpine stays?
Yes. Alpine stays in Gstaad, St Moritz, Verbier, Courchevel or Zermatt need officers who know the mountains, ski resort access rules, the apr猫s-ski social scene and the challenge of protecting clients who ski off-piste. We build the team for the mountain, not just for the city, and plan every route before you arrive.
Can you provide protection in areas with extreme climates or hostile environments?
Yes. We have operated across Africa and in Ukraine. Hard environments need specific medical planning, the right equipment and officers who are fit and prepared. The mission never changes, but the plan does. We will not send officers into places they are not ready for.
How do you handle situations where the client wants no visible security?
This is a common and reasonable request. We deploy officers in plain clothes, so they look like personal staff, a driver or a travel companion. Choosing no visible security changes how the protection looks, not how good it is. We keep every core close protection procedure at the same standard, however it looks.
Question not listed?
A senior member of the team will reply quickly. It is confidential, with no obligation and no standard answer.
